2/26/19 – US PIRG (Public-Interest Advocacy Group) found traces of weed killer in wine and beer and released the news this week.
Familiar with Roundup? Well there is a main ingredient in Roundup called glyphosate, which is a listed as a human carcinogen (a substance capable of causing cancer).
While the levels are very low, glyphosate exists in Coors Light, Miller Lite, Budweiser, Corona, Heineken, Guinness, Stella Artois, and Sam Adams. For wines it was found in Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon, Sutter Home Merlot, and Berlinger Estates Moscato.
The amount is so so little that you have to have 140 beers a day for the glyphosate to have an affect on your body. Time will tell for beer and wine drinkers if it will have an effect on our bodies.
Best of luck out there.
